Louis Vuitton has just released an exceptionally robust Timberland

When Pharrell debuted his inaugural autumn collection for Louis Vuitton Men’s in January, he delved into the iconic motifs of the American West. “It was a privilege to explore the essence of the West and its workwear aesthetics,” Pharrell remarked after his third runway show for LV, which prominently featured felted cowboy hats, embossed leather, and touches of turquoise. This collection also unexpectedly birthed a collaboration with the British band Mumford & Sons. “I believe that the portrayal of cowboys often limits our understanding. We rarely see the true diversity of original cowboys—who look like me, who are Black, who are Native American.”

This sentiment sets the stage for Louis Vuitton’s latest announcement of a workwear-themed capsule collection today. The collection showcases a range of Western-inspired ready-to-wear pieces, including trucker jackets, embellished coats, and a limited-edition Keepall 50 Toolbox bag—a multifunctional tote complete with a steel-forged flask and cigarette case. Notably, the collaboration with Timberland for boots adds to the cowboy motif, seamlessly blending with Pharrell’s ongoing exploration of the contemporary dandy and a nod to refined Americana.

The LV x Timberland collaboration features variations of Timberland’s signature six-inch work boot, a slightly taller ankle boot, a pull-on midi boot, and a lace-hooked ranger boot. These designs come in classic wheat nubuck leather as well as black, adorned with Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram detailing. Selected pairs will be available for early purchase starting July 18, with global sales opening on August 8.

“Partnering with Timberland just makes sense,” Pharrell affirmed during the January launch. “It’s something we deeply appreciate. Whether you’re in an urban neighborhood or a factory setting, Timberlands are renowned for their durability and longevity. In times like these, if you’re investing your disposable income, it should be in something that truly lasts. Timberland is a testament to lasting quality.”

While this marks Louis Vuitton’s first official collaboration with the iconic American footwear brand, the fashion house has intermittently embraced Timberland-inspired boots since the Virgil Abloh era. The late menswear designer was a staunch advocate of the style and directly collaborated with Timberland through his Off-White label on multiple occasions. Pharrell, too, has a longstanding relationship with Timberland, notably through his acclaimed Bee Line imprint in the early 2010s.
